Hi CFC fans,

We are into the final match of what has been a disappointing and very disjointed season. It is always “the hope that hurts”, and we have had more than our fair share of both hope and hurt.

However, already our minds are turning to what may be the dawning of a new era for the Blues.

Xabi Alonso’s appointment as Manager (not just head-coach) is good reason for optimism.

This final match of the season is an opportunity for players to impress the new manager ahead of a summer that should see a lot of activity in and out of our squad for next season.

If I don’t see you at the pub for the game on Sunday, I wish you all a great World Cup summer.
